 ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE – WINE
DEFINED EVENT 1 – WINE AND RELATED PRODUCTS
This cover excludes that which is otherwise insured or for which insurance is available and described (whether incorporated in this policy or not) in terms of any section (other than the Business All Risks section) of this Policy. This section covers accidental physical loss of or damage to the insured property at or about the insured premises or premises where the Insured operates his business consequent upon and including:
1. latent defect of the wine and related products
2. contamination of wine and related products as a result of:
2.1 accidental breakage of and/or damage to portals and accessories of wine vats and/or tanks,
2.2 accidental bursting, breakage and/or damage to or of separators and accessories, wine vats and/or tanks and/or pipe connections and pipes of such wine vats and/or tanks,
2.3 accidental pumping together of wine and related products,
2.4 oxidation, change in color and/or flavor, fermentation but excluding fermentation of Sulphurated Sweet Must, fermentation of 100% Sweet Must and/or Grape Juice, fermentation of Sweet Reserves and fermentation of Concentrate
3. loading and unloading at the insured premises only
4. breakage of bottles
5. breakage of tank portals and tanks
6. accidental breakage of bottled wine
7. loss caused as a result of fermentation of Sulphurated Sweet Must, fermentation of 100% Sweet Must and/or Grape Juice and/or Sweet Reserves and fermentation of Concentrate;
PROVIDED THAT:
the requirements stated below are strictly adhered to:
1. Sulphurated Sweet Must
1.1 the sulphur dioxide (SO2) level may not be less than 1200mg/l. The adding of SO2 must take place according
to the standard winemaking practice of thoroughly mixing the contents of the tank
1.2 sulphurated Sweet Must may only be stored in stainless steel tanks with 316 stainless steel domes
1.3 such storage tanks must at all times be filled to at least the level below the column of the upper part of the manhole of the wine tank
1.4 sensory tests are to be conducted weekly on all storage tanks and a laboratory chemical analysis is to be conducted monthly. If necessary the tank(s) must be filtrated immediately. Records of all such tests must be kept and submitted to the Company if so required.
2. Sweet Must and/or Grape Juice

100% Sweet Must and/or Grape Juice may only be stored in stainless steel tanks with 316 stainless steel domes
such storage tanks must at all times be filled to at least the level below the column of the upper part of the manhole of the wine tank
sensory tests are to be conducted twice a week on all storage tanks and a laboratory chemical analysis is to be conducted once or twice per month. If necessary the tank must be filtrated immediately. Records of all such test must be kept and submitted to the Company if so required.
