Dear Delegates, Exhibitors and Guests

It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the AUCSO Executive Committee, to provide you with information about our 38th
Conference, hosted by the University of Liverpool. You will see over the next few pages the amount of detail that has
                                                                                                                th
gone into preparing for a conference that we can all be proud of, and also one which fittingly marks the 40
        Anniversary of our association.

We all know that in today's rapidly evolving Security landscape, the role of campus Security is more crucial than ever.
We may not all face the same challenges, but we all face multiple challenges and keeping our communities safe, with
so many different Security and safety challenges has always been our top priority, just as keeping our institutions
financially stable is a priority for our leadership teams. But if we don’t constantly demonstrate our value, then our
leaders will simply look at our costs, and that can lead to even more pressures for us and our teams which can make
our campuses and our communities vulnerable.

Therefore, the full theme for the conference “Optimising the protection of Campus communities through value-centric
Security”, was a way for us to look specially at the areas where our services can provide enhanced value to our
institutions, and in doing so can protect our departments and our teams from downsizing due to economic pressures.

We looked at areas where we can currently demonstrate this e.g. mental health support, dealing with campus protests,
tackling VAWG etc., but also looked at areas where we need to start addressing now in order to protect ourselves and
our communities in the years to come e.g. Martyn’s Law, Artificial Intelligence, Transforming our teams, Geopolitical
        Risks etc.

We have also selected some key subjects where we will be running some Panel Sessions in order to get a wider
understanding of the problems and solutions that are available. We hope you will find these sessions educational and
interesting so that you can bring any identified solutions back to your institutions to continue the conversation.

Our Conference will commence on the evening of Monday 8th April with a welcome evening and exhibitors fair in the
                                                                                  th

home of the historic Liverpool Football Club, with a Special Guest Speaker and stadium tours available. Then we finish
                                                                                 th

As this conference marks the 40 Anniversary of AUCSO becoming a formal Association, we will also be announcing
some major steps forward and look forward to as many of you being present to witness these acts whilst we all
celebrate the achievements of so many that have got us to where we are today.

I am confident that this conference will be a landmark event, fostering international collaboration, knowledge sharing,
and the development of good Security practices across all our institutions.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to engaging with you at the conference and to collectively shaping
the future of value-centric Security in our academic institutions.
