When I was in 1st grade someone chose Mrs. Johnson as their Distin- guished Educator and came into her classroom to take photos. I told her right then and there that she would be my Distinguished Educator when the time came. She chuckled and told me I’d have so many more phenomenal teachers. Well, the time has come, and I still haven’t had a kinder teacher. In my three years with her, Mrs. Johnson taught me how to be a good person, perhaps the most important lesson of all.
