A good educator is quite possibly one of the most important elements in uplifting a student to overpower adversity and succeed in life.
In times when I struggled to keep my grades up, Mrs. Schulte embraced this element by welcoming encouragement, motivation and inspiration in her classroom. To a student who finds their grades dropping letter after letter, hearing a teacher express to me that I was exceptional at writing meant so much more than a few words. Rather, it meant a powerful incentive to push through tough times—to find a way to pour my troubling emotions into my writing. For Mrs. Schulte, I am grateful; she knew how to help me find reasoning through cherishing the art of writing.
