Randy Wood, along with his brother Mike Wood, opened Woody’s Car Wash in 1994. Mike retired four years ago; Randy has been managing
brothers grew up in Great Falls; Randy moved to Helena 38 years ago. Initially he started a collection business, which he sold after eight years. He managed Sleeping Giant Lanes for a time, until the business sold. During his visits to Great Falls, Randy would frequent a certain
car wash that provided the kind of service that was lacking in Helena at the time. He decided to ll that void in Helena by opening one of his own. When they bought the property on which Woody’s still resides, it was a used car lot with the infrastructure to support a car wash. Randy and Mike hired advisors to help them prepare to launch the business, and Woody’s opened in July of 1994.
One of the early challenges for Randy and Mike was learning to have extra parts on hand; it’s not easy to obtain things in Montana, as they learned the hard way. In order to maintain a business like this, it
is imperative that they have extra

the business since then, with plans to someday hand over the reins to his daughter and son-in-law. The
motors, pumps, and other parts on hand in the event that something breaks down. Randy employs around 15 people; he takes great pride in his employees, many of whom have been working for him for more than ten years.
Randy and his wife of 38 years have three children and four grandchildren; he enjoys gol ng, shing, bowling, camping, and spending time with his family, most of which live in Helena. He loves living in Helena, and appreciates how nice of a place it is to live and raise a family. ■
