 PLAN AHEAD
Amanda has received a tremendous amount of support from the community, especially throughout the pandemic. While locals love to shop at Wild Child,
it is a great stop for gifts or souvenirs for tourists passing through to purchase a little slice of Montana. With the pandemic hitting during summer, there was a slight worry about opening without the normal amount of tourist traffic coming through to buy gifts and shop in downtown Helena. Amanda says she is “the proudest of the response to the locals coming down and supporting. It has been a great summer, and fall has been looking good too.” The community has been a huge support to the boutique. When asked what Amanda enjoys most about working in Helena, she replied, “The people. It is such a close-knit community and they really support downtown and enjoy shopping local.”

Looking towards the future and the evolution of small businesses, Amanda believes that the biggest factor
moving forward is digital and social media presence. While she is still building that aspect of Wild Child, “it is key to business marketing and can really make or break your business.” In addition to social media, Amanda will also be working towards increasing online sales, making sure everything is available, and online shopping is user friendly, especially moving into the holiday season. As always, the holidays sneak up, so as a tidbit of advice from Amanda at Wild Child Collective, “shop early and shop local!”
