Castle Rock has a new real estate company in the
heart of downtown. HomeSmart has moved to 240
Wilcox Street which is adjacent to the new Backyard
Tap House and Grill. This company was previously located at 801 S. Perry Street, Suite No. 135, Castle Rock. HomeSmart is Colorado’s largest real estate brokerage by agent count and is adding new o ces throughout Colorado. This innovative company was founded in 2000 by Matt Widdows, who believed that the real estate industry needed to change by creating state-of-the-art technologies for their company agents as well as clients searching for homes. Their technology minimizes redundancies for agents and their brokers. Their agents receive their own SmartSites to brand their individual business and optimizes their listings. In addition, their proprietary technology help clients  nd homes and property that match their criteria. Their new o ce location on Wilcox is easily accessible and has a modern urban vibe.
Paired Homes in Founders Village:
A  nal proposal has been submitted to the Castle Rock Town Development Department to build Founders Vista, which will be a total of 53 paired homes which comprises 106 dwellings, with garage parking, guest parking and a planned open space. Architectural design is being  nalized by Mowen/ Norris LLC. This plan has been approved and initial construction will begin early 2020. Paired homes are commonly referred to as patio homes. These types of units are often popular to buyers who are empty nesters or couples looking to downsized from larger homes.
Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel:
The only funeral home in Castle Rock which was built in 1929 was originally scheduled for major renovation at its current location at 407 Jerry Street, just one block from the Douglas County Court House. However, after careful consideration, planners determined that construction of a new facility at the same location would be more feasible and cost e ective. Now awaiting  nal permitting from the Town of Castle Rock, this funeral home and chapel will be demolished and replaced with a new building which should meet the future needs of the Castle Rock community.
Expansion of Plum Creek Parkway at Miller’s Landing:
Miller’s Landing is a planned mixed-use development located on the north side of Plum Creek Parkway west of I-25. A roadway improvement plan has been submitted to the Planning Department of Castle Rock. The proposal is to do a two-phased improvement. Phase one includes a round-a-bout and a Road A into Miller’s Landing. Phase two won’t occur until Plum Creek Parkway reaches an average of 12,000 vehicles per day as measured by west of future Prairie Hawk Drive. Regardless, residents can expect a substantial volume of tra c once this large-scale development project is completed. It is important to note that Miller’s Landing is also planning a phased development concept where buildings are constructed a few at a time as they secure tenants.
