The View at Castle Rock:
A major commercial development is likely coming to Castle Rock. The Downtown Alliance and Sun ower Development Group is proposing a public-private partnership to build a mixed-use site with a total of 218 for-rent residential units, 14,000 square feet of o ce space and 5,000 square feet of retail space. The building will be 7 stories tall. The proposed location is on 2 acres at 610 Jerry Street. This site is bordered by 6th Street to the south and Jerry Street to the west, an auto repair shop to the north and a public alley to the east. Final architectural renderings have already been submitted to the Town and two of the required three public meetings have taken place. If approved, construction will begin early to mid 2021. The plan calls for 430 parking spaces with a portion of the parking made available to the public. Terraces will contain a swimming pool, social gathering spaces, outdoor cooking grills and a 24-hour dog run. The site currently contains occupied storage units that will remain in operation while the site is being designed but will be vacated prior to the actual construction. Castle Rock is rapidly changing!
RidgeGate:
All of us will remember the year 2020 for a variety of reasons. It is also the year when RidgeGate has launched its next long-term, large-scale master development plan. The 4 square miles of land located east of I-25 on RidgeGate Parkway is already under construction. The plan is to build three new residential communities which will eventually house 10,000 residents, two mixed-use districts to include 12 million square feet of o ce, retail, medical and hospital space. All of this will be served by two light-rail stations. Adjacent to this development will be 1,000 acres of parks, recreational trails and open space. Currently under construction is a project to widen the east side of RidgeGate Parkway from two lanes, to a three-lane highway. The immediate area surrounding the new light-rail station will house 540 new apartments along with 10,000 square feet of ground oor retail space. There are plans to have covered parking, a pool and spa, clubhouse, pet grooming, library and shared o ce space for new residents.
Widening of Highway 85 From Sedalia to Louviers:
The Colorado Department of Transportation and Castle Rock Construction Company continues to work on the US 85 widening project which is a 2.5 mile stretch of the highway. The project will rebuild and widen this part of the highway to two lanes on both sides. The project is expected to ease congestion, improve access to side streets and left turn lanes. They ask those traveling this stretch of highway to be patient during construction and drive safely.
