This year is the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad. On Thur., November 14 the Castle Rock Historical Society and Museum will hold a showing of the lm, “Journey to Promontory”. This hour long lm tells the story of America’s rst transcontinental railroad. Learn how this incredible feat took place in 1869, unifying the country with a railroad from East to West with a nal symbolic Golden Spike. Refreshments will be served at 6:45 pm with the presentation starting at 7:00 pm. Philip S. Miller Library 100 S. As one of Castle Rock Chamber’s signature events, the community tradition continues on Sat., November 23rd. The annual celebration will include: hot chocolate (both kids & adult versions), non pro t booths lining the streets of Wilcox Square, strolling entertainers, live entertainment and of course Santa will be present for photos and visits.
