8 TIPS FOR ORGANIZING YOUR PAPERWORK
by AskJanet
As tax season approaches we all need to come up with a ling system for all that paper we have accumulated over the year. We do tend to procrastinate when it comes to organizing. But if we keep it simple with thought and planning, it truly isn’t that di cult. It is easier to let papers pile up; however, to make nancial processes simpler, i.e., taxes; we have to be sure all the correct paperwork is easily accessible. Therefore, it is best to start the organization process now.
To make it simpler, below are some steps. Try them as you create your own ling system:
• Start simple: Come up with a ling system that’s relatively easy to use. You don’t want your ling system to be more stressful than the stress it’s supposed to alleviate.
• Be colorful: Files of di erent colors, or tabs and labels of di erent colors can not only turn your ling system into a work of art, but also make it easier to nd di erent subjects and interests. Be creative, make it interesting and fun!
• Keep important papers where you know they’re safe: Keep your documents in a safe place, i.e., a safety deposit box, or a lockbox; just make sure that you can easily get hold of them when you need them.
• Here is a list of what you do need to keep: 4 Automobile information
4 Bank account numbers
4 Birth certi cates
4 Credit card numbers 4 Deeds
4 Important receipts
