CRHS Cemetery Tour - October 8
Join the Castle Rock Historical Society Sat., October 8th for a leisurely walk through historic grave sites in Ce- dar Hill Cemetery which was founded in 1875 and is the only cemetery in Castle Rock. It contains the remains of pioneers signi cant in the early history of Castle Rock and Douglas County. The 1-hour tour, guided by retired local history teacher, John Berry, begins at 4:30pm. Downtown CR Restaurant Week – starts Oct. 2
Castle Rock Restaurant Week will encourage people to embrace the food, culture and local love with an event that features specials from your favorite Downtown restaurants. See participating restaurants on ad, at left.
CR Historical Society Presentation – Oct. 11
Join us on Tues., October 11, for a presentation by retired local history teacher, John Berry on “Ghost Towns in Douglas County”. Ever wonder about all the little towns that came before us? Well, you can hear all about them at our monthly presentation for October at 7:00pm at the Philip S. Miller Library. This is also our annual board election time, which will be handled quickly before the presentation. Refreshments will be served at 6:45pm with the presentation beginning at 7:00pm at the Philip S. Yeehaw, it’s barbeque time. The Castle Rock Historical Society & Museum is hosting a fundraiser BBQ on Sat., October 15 from 5 – 9pm at the Eagles Club 1300 Caprice Dr. in Castle Rock. Come enjoy good food and live music featuring Rudy Grant & The Buffalo riders and local Country Singer, Peggy Malone. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online at www.castlerockmuseum.org or by contacting the Castle Rock Museum at museum@castlerockhistoricalsociety. org or 303-814-3164.
