Daphne, is a genus of numerous species of
deciduous and evergreen shrubs. All the plants of this genus are toxic
and have a low to medium toxicity level. Symptoms of toxic poison-
ing, for both humans and animals, could be drooling, vomiting, diar-
rhoea, kidney inflammation, irregular heart rhythm and seizures.
Contact with the skin could cause severe irritation, redness and itch-

berries of these plants are extremely toxic and should never be eaten.
Children should be warned of the danger these plants pose, especially
the berries. Pets should be supervised when in their vicinity and
strongly discouraged from chewing or eating any part of them. If you
suspect toxic poisoning, you should get medical help immediately.

Datura is a genus of around nine species of highly poisonous,

them. Despite their poisonous content Datura are cooked and eaten in
many countries. However, never underestimate the danger they pose,
and never attempt to eat any part of them without first consulting
someone with experience in the preparation and cooking of these
plants. Children should be schooled in the danger they pose, and pets
should never be allowed near them.

and animals, could be, excessive slavering and drooling, sweating,
vomiting, breathing difficulties, confusion and hallucinations. Skin
