Cydone spirit abounded as the high school cele
brated Spirit Week on November 13-17. Tuesday,
the halls filled with blue and gold as both the facili
ty and the students competed in intramural volley
ball, soccer, and kickball. Freshman Cherie Gue
rrero was crowned "Tacky Queen" on Wacky
Wednesday. Students donned the names of their
favorite colleges and universities on College Dress-
Up Day. On Friday, everyone wore their western
gear and then gathered in the P.A.C. for a McDon
ald's spirit lunch. The Dance Line, headed by junior
Cristina Fernandez, performed while members of
the faculty created their own kind of "Dance Line."
After the teachers' presentation on CTV, the stu
dents demanded a live presentation and were told
that there would be one at the end of the year. The
week ended with line-dancing lessons from Des
perado. According to senior Mary Mahany, "Spirit
Week was the first real effort this year to increase
school spirit. It was greatly appreciated!"
