Yggdrasill is mentioned in Norse mythology as the tree of life and as the tree of knowledge. Its long limbs stretched up
to the light of the sky, while its sturdy roots held the tree firmly in place and grew far into the underworld. Yggdrasill
towered over earth and into heaven, uniting them both. The god who created the world of humans drank from the spring
beneath the Yggdrasill. This spring was a spring of wisdom and the great ash tree growing from it was the center of the
universe, the World Tree.
