Carrollton took 10 out of a possible 21 trophies in the high school competiton.

Carrollton's strong robotics tradition was upheld at the National tournament this week. For the first time the professional 220 pound
class competed at the same location as the college and high school competition in San Francisco. Carrollton was represented by Lizzy
DeZuelleta'08 in the professional class when her WPI team finished as national champions. In the college competition Carrollton's Andrea
Suarez '06 drove the University of Miami's robot to a third place finish.
In the competitive high school 120 pound class the team of Lauren Correa and Jennifer Villa finished in 5th place. The team of Bianca
Barrionuevo, Andrea Ucar and Cat Walkington did very well with 2 wins and their their only losses were to other Carrollton robots, they
were given a special award as "judges favorite team." The team of Elizabeth Masson, Danielle Cosio and Andrea Rovirosa stayed the longest
in the winners category and won two awards for Documentation of building the robot.
In the very competitive 15 pound class The team of Tiffany Virgin, Jessica Ortiz, Annalury Villasante, Victoria Rosier, Natasha Johnson and
Carolina Barreto....came in 6th place, Carrollton swept the Documentation Awards. The first place documentation from the team of Jade
Brown, Emma Guerra, Christiana Rosales and Emily Parr being used as an example for all teams. The team of Natalie Diaz, Lauren Del Valle,
Pam Zedan and Gaby Fortun also won an award for Documentation. Victoria Enjamio, Andrea Rabassa, Katrina Sanchelema and Monica
Zatrain's team was the only Carrollton team to compete in two different categories. The team of Kiera Russell, Alexandra Morales, Alejandra
Zamparelli, Jassenia Rodriguez, Michelle Robelo and Alejandra Rovirosa....had a very well engineered robot but lost their match on a
controversial judges decision that had their opponents wondering how they possibly could have won , they handled this controversy with
great composure and respect. The Team of Andrea Barcia, Sofia Diaz and Claudine Fernandez had a great competition.
Finally in task robot class Carrollton dominated with the Nation champion team of Nina Campo, Sofia Gomez, Christine Nunez, Lauren
O'Brien and Gaby Campana also winning best engineered Robot award and the National Runner up team of Ali Mesa, Anamari Mesa, Sofie
Arazoza, Ana Zelaya and Adrienne Castro also winning 3rd place in Documentation. First place in Documentation went to the team of
Ana Kurzan, Carolina Menendez and Adriana de Armas. Second place in documentation went to the team of Valentina Chamoro, Flelena
Buitrago, Tessa Danguillecourt and Gaby Granda, which placed 4th in the competition, followed by the team of Amanda Kuhn, Madison
Uva, Megan Rickborn, Kelly Keough and llyssa Block which placed 5th... (this team scored the highest point total in a single match during
the competition). All in all Carrollton took 10 out of the possible 21 trophies in the high school competition.
