Using sand as a Montessori sensorial material, students learned about how rock turns into sand and sand into rock. They studied Native
American sand painting by observing the shapes and colors they used. Each student composed a piece with colored sand and glue on
art board and discussed the connection between St. Rose Philippine Duchesne and the Native Americans.
