My intention in creating this piece was to share a reflection from my trip to Haiti. While I was there, I was
able to witness its extreme poverty and how the native people would use basic materials to create everyday
objects. I wanted to communicate how we witness the destruction, poverty, and corruption in Haiti, yet not
enough is done to aid this country, the poorest nation in our continent. I believe that I was able to convey my
message bo the fullest extent because every aspect of the piece transmits the message of taking action to aid
the suffering of the Haitian people.
