Grounds

The new campus, belter
known as the Hughes Estate, was
built originally as a private home
by William Matheson. The
original house burned down in
the fifties and the Danielson
family rebuilt it as their new
home. Howard Hughes bought it
in 1980 and used it as a
coordination center for the
Howard Hughes Medical Center.
; Many new buildings and
additions were built then. In
1987, it was sold to Howard
Sharlin. finally, in September
1991, 6.25 acres of the original
property were bought by
i Carrollton to create the new
' campus.
