Yggdrasill is a giant ash tree in Norse mythology, said to support the
world and the universe, and to be the creator of humankind. At the
base of Yggdrasill's great trunk lie the wells of Wisdom and Fate.
W Yggdrasill stands as a symbol of strength and stability.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart creates women of strength
-w om en of confidence in themselves and conviction in their beliefs.
Like Yggdrasill, Carrollton graduates draw from the wells of Wisdom
and Fate to help shape their own destinies and lead their lives in
accordance with the Five Goals of a Sacred Heart education. And for
us at Carrollton School, the Duchesne Oak stands as our Yggdrasill.

In the spirit of this great earth and our fervent blue and gold spirit, the
2007-2008 edition of Yggdrasill celebrates the greening of Carrollton.
In August, Sister Cooke announced that Carrollton was going green
and called us to action accordingly.

In honor and support of this mission, Yggdrasill is organized by season
and within each season, by our Sacred Heart Coals. Because after all,
                                                                                                           JA-
the Goals call us to faith, to knowledge, to do, to come together and to
a lifetime responsibility for all of God's creation.
                                                                          Consuelo D. Panzer
