Athletic Awards







          The Cyclones Celebrate Another Successful Year


          The Carrollton Cyclones have much to celebrate!  On Tuesday,
          May  19th, the High School athletes along with their families, and
          friends gathered in the Fernandez and Argiz Families Wellness
          Center to celebrate this year's athletic accomplishments by the
          Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.  Each sport was called to the;
          stage while their coach briefed the audience about their season.
         The coaches also: gave awards to the players who went the extra
          mile and exemplified their dedication to their program through
         their words and actions. Once, all the sports were recognized,
         Athletic Director Matt Alth.agc, presented Sister Cooke with a
          plaque containing the official Carrollton varsity letter, “C" naming
          her an official Cyclone and Varsity Letterwoman.  Sister Cooke's
          constant support of the athletic program has been critical to its
          success and we thank her for her dedication to the Cyclones.  At
         the end of the ceremony, the athletes from th e C lass of 2015
         were called to the stage for some special words and awards given
          by Dr. Dempf and Sister Cooke. The major awards received are:

           Sportsmanship Award: Aloxa Garcia  15
           Outstanding Athlete: Frica Garcia ' 15
           Scholar Athlete: Alexis Vidaurreta ' 15
         Alexis Vjdaurretaf 15 was also named as a finalist for the Miami
          Herald's All-Dade Scholar Athlete Award.  Other finalists included
          students from Ransom Everglades, Gulliver,  TERRA, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and other schools
          known for their academic excellence.  On Wednesday,: May 20th, the Miami; Herald recognized Alexis'
          amazing athletic and academic achievements
          and named her the 2014-2015 All-Dade
          Scholar Athlete.

          Later that night, the Junior High athletes
          were honored in the same way surrounded
          by their supporters.  Again, each sport was:
          called to the stage to share the athletes'
          and coaches' experience and success.  The
          major award for the Junior High program
          is the Cyclone Award,  This honor is given
          to an athlete that competes in at least two
          sports,, remains in high academic standing
          and demonstrates the Goals and Criteria
          through her actions every day.  The 2014-
          2015 Cyclone Award was given to Isabella
          Diaz' 19 who represents these standards
          admirably.
