On Monday, October 3rd, first graders celebrated the Feast of
St. Francis of Assisi through ceremoniously blessing their pets. The
Blessing of the Animals ceremony takes place in honor of this Saint,
the patron saint of animals and the environment. The ceremony
began with the girls joining in prayer and song. Then, their animals
were blessed with Holy Water. All of the girls had a wonderful time
meeting their friends’ pets and sharing the experience with their
parents and furry best friends!
