The Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education
Service as am integral part of Sacred Heart tradition
By Mila McClure 'W.
"As students mature and experience various.forms of service, they see the impact of their
actions and recall their introduction to service at a young age. They understand hbwtheir
passion to serve started when1they were little. Throughout the Carrollton experience, service
gradually becomes a natural extension of who the students are," says Pad’la Consuegra,
Director of the Montessori arid1Primary Schools.
Sacred Heart schools worldwide recognize Saint Madeleine Sophie's example and are
committed to fostering "a social awareness which impels to action." Starting as early as
Montesspri, students are introduced to service indirectly through age appropriate activities.
"I don't think there's any greater gift than when you hearths girls at graduation talk about the
service experiences they had wnen they were younger"' says Consuegra.
