The Fairchild Challenge 2019-2020 for Middle Schools, involved a variety of ways for students to showcase the rich habitats and issues critical to our South Florida home Challenge entries included diverse methods of communication including botanical illustrations of rare plants, photographic e^ays of plastic pollution, an interactive game about the pine rocklands habitat, and an audio presentation about the variety o f uses for plants growing nearby in the Caribbean and ,n Latin America. Students from Grades 6-8 participated through classes such as Spanish 2, Art, Math 7, Science 6, 7, - -8 and Technobgy 6. Carrollton was awarded First Place for Challenge 4: Growing Beyond Earth, a collaboration between Fairchild Challenge schools and NASA. Severth Grade students created the award winningposterusingdatagatheredduringthe28 daytrialofthreeplantvarietiesofBrassicarapa(Chinesecabbage).SixthGradestudents|o,ned,nmeasuring the plant growth.
