Evidence & Interpretation
Sometimes we can jump to
conclusions.
For example, if we smile at someone and
they walk away from us, we might jump to
the conclusion that they do not like us.
We looked at different ways to think about the same
evidence.
For example, if I smile and someone walks away from me, it may
be that:
▪ They are not sure what to say and worry because they do not
know very well
▪ Something else has upset them
▪ They did not notice me
▪ They did notice me but have not yet learned empathy – they find
it hard to think about someone else’s feelings and do things to
make others feel good (something you are great at).
