3. Prep4Best gives children the best chance of doing

well

▪ Prep4Best is best as a whole school approach carried out as a matter of course by all

staff (not just class teachers).

▪ Following the 3-part structure helps people to do it well.

▪ Helping children to think through other people’s needs and what the expectations

should be so everyone can do well gives them practice in vital skills – thinking pro-

socially, mentalisation and thinking flexibly.

▪ If we simply give rules, we rob children of practice in these vital skills.

▪ Following the 3-part structure helps people to do it well.

▪ We should aim for children to Prep4Best for themselves – Pathway to Independence
