Can I improve my Attention Control?
Yes!
Way to improve:
1. Check out your Bright Spots: Work out when you focus attention at your
best. Think about what helps at those times. See if you can copy those
things at the times you find it trickier.
2. Work out scaffolds: Try out things that can help concentration such as
ear buds, weighted cushions, yoga ball chairs & chair straps.
3. Always ‘Prep4Best’. An adult will teach you how to do this.
4. Practice to improve:
a. Time how long you can manage it at the start. Decide a task to practice on & try
to increase your focus each day – even by a few seconds
b. Keep a track of your progress
c. Just focusing your mind on getting better at attention control will make a
difference to your neural circuits and you will improve!
