        Answers






     1.      The four elements of a Coaching Conversation are: Introduce,

             Listen, Share your concern, invite to problem solve.



     2.      When introducing a concern, keep in mind that you need to keep the

             person’s executive Function Skills working at their best. This means making

             sure the other person does not feel blamed or become defensive. Phrases
             such as “Don’t worry, you are not in trouble. I’m on your side. I want to
             support you.”




     3.      It should always be the youngest person who introduces their concern first.



     4.      The adult should try to provide empathetic listening. This means responding

             with compassion and showing you understand the other person’s
             experience. You may want to paraphrase what the child has said too.




     5.      If the child responds with ‘dunno’, it is best to reply with “Oh, ok. So you’re
             not sure. Don’t worry. Have another think about it ..” then repeat the

             question in a different way.
