  1. I CAN TOLERATE NEWNESS AND UNCERTAINTY & ADAPT TO CHANGE

Part 1: Managing newness, unfamiliarity and uncertainty

I am willing to do things in a different way than I am used to.

I will give new experiences a try - e.g. starting a new hobby or club. I understand it may not feel comfortable at
the start but will get easier with time.

I can manage meeting new people or being paired with or sitting next to someone I do not know.

When something is new or unfamiliar, I can remind myself that one day it will feel normal - e.g. If I move
house/school, I know one day it will feel just as comfortable and familiar as the home/school I am in now.
I cope ok with uncertainty - e.g. not knowing which class I will be in next year - talking it through if I need to. I

focus on what I can control.

I manage when something is not definite or is not clear cut / black and white.

Part 2: Coping with the unexpected and adapting to change

I can cope when rules change.

I manage and adapt ok when things change or do not happen as I was expecting.

I can cope ok when routines change - e.g. when I need to sit in a different place to my normal one or go to a
   club on a different day.
