Brain Building Answers
1. Brains start developing before birth and are not fully
developed until a person’s mid twenties.
2. Our early experiences create the foundations of brain
architecture on which later circuitry is built.
3. Our brain is made up of lots of cells called neurons.
4. Whenever we think, do or say anything, neurons pass information
to each other through an electrical signal.
5. Electrical signals sent between neurons creates a circuit. Every time we
repeat something, a coating around the trunk of the neuron (the axon) gets
thicker and the branches of the neuron (dendrites) get bushier. Scientists
think that this helps speed up the electrical signals between neurons.
