Minimise Difficulties

                     1. Help children find ways to scaffold their difficulties

Minimising difficulties means finding ways to make things feel a bit

easier – just like someone might use crutches to walk if they have

hurt their leg or wear glasses if they have problems seeing.

There are lots of things that can help people minimise difficulties in

learning, from sensory scaffolds to ones for reading and writing.

Rather than giving scaffolds to a person, it is best to let them try out

different ones until they find one that suits them best. This gives the

person a sense of control and agency.
