The Building of the Brain
The human brain develops in a sort of ‘back to front’ way.
The last part of our
brain to develop is
the area at the
front of the brain;
it’s fancy name is the
‘pre-frontal cortex’.
This area of the brain
is in charge of more
complex thinking skills
such as planning and
decision-making.
The areas nearer the back of our brain develop first.
These areas are in charge of skills such as co-ordination
(moving your body) and vision (seeing things).
