Brain Building
I described the process of neuroplasticity –
how we can build our brains at any age
and get better at any skills we find harder.
Part of the focus of the work will be to help Riley to believe that
things CAN be different: every time he repeats something, his brain
pathways will get stronger, and things will become get easier.
An electrical signal is fired. It travels
through the body of the neuron. It travels across the synaptic A neural circuit is created.
gap to the next neuron. The signal gets stronger and
faster with repetition.
I compared the process of neural
building with placing an increasing
number of elastic bands around the
same nails on a geo board: the
pathway gets thicker and stronger.
