Plan for Progress: the Working Out Windows template
The Working Out Windows is a simple template to use with children to think through their own
needs, the needs of others, and create a plan for what could happen next time, so everyone’s needs
are met well.
Whilst the adult goes through the four-part sequence of a) introducing the issue b) listening & probing
to help both parties understand what is going on for the child c) sharing their concerns / needs and d)
inviting the child to think of solutions that work for everyone, they can either use a table-top version of
the Working Out Windows or, for active children, we have 6ft x 2ft vinyls available.
