Closing Summary
1. We make a call to all adults with young people in their care: let’s not
use the same techniques for supporting young people that were
being used 100 years ago. We wouldn’t do that in medicine.
2. Instead, we ask people to consider the evidence now in our hands -
our knowledge of the brain and our understanding of psychology –
to use methods that help children to do better and make progress,
not simply feel worse.
3. Our approach is not a quick fix (that doesn’t exist), but with great
leadership, consistency and insistency, it will be effective in helping
all children to achieve their best.
