P. 72
Key Points Summary
1. When needs aren’t met well and they become stressors,
some people have low levels of stress in their body and the
Executive Function Skills to manage.
2. Other children aren’t so lucky. They already have high
levels of stress and don’t have such strong Executive Skills
to manage.
3. When the stressor is too big for their skills, they may slip
into a stress response. There are different types.
4. (The trick is to help children notice their stress responses
when they are tiny. By doing this, they have a chance to get
back on track before the stress is too big to manage.)
