The Control Centre of your Brain
The front part of our brain (the part that develops last) is called
the ‘pre-frontal cortex’.
This part of the brain is a bit like a ‘Control Centre’ because it
keeps everything going smoothly.
The pre-frontal cortex is in charge of a set of an important set of
skills which scientists call 'Executive Function Skills’. We
sometimes call them ‘Control Centre Skills’.

You need these Executive Function Skills to get on with others,
learn in lessons, do homework, get jobs done and enjoy activities
outside of school.
