I explained that when needs are not met and stress chemicals are
released, it may leave a person feeling powerless. That is the point you
may throw or run from your prickle if you don’t stop and take control.
We noticed that you used some ‘blamer’ and ‘helpless’ statements when
you were describing times that don’t go ok for you – like meetings being
too long and lessons being too easy.
I explained how we can take control and try to shift into an Empowered
Position:
Step 1: decide what you would like to be different.
Step 2: be the negotiator and challenger and ask for the thing you would
help you to feel and do better – e.g. ask if the meeting can be 1 hour and
if you can have time to have your say at the start.
