Take a moment to reflect on the Key Messages from this course.
▪ Does your current policy protect children’s Benevolent and Positive Childhood
Experiences (PCEs/BCEs) and help them to feel a sense of belonging in school?
Or does it lead to them feeling disengaged from school and learning?
▪ Does your current policy and procedures focus on supporting children to DO
better, or does it simply lead them to FEEL worse? Is it high on challenge or just on
shame?
▪ Do you help children (as a class) Prep4Best ahead of a task? (Some children may
need extra).
▪ Do you give children the chance to think through what they need and what others
need for it to go well?
▪ Do your school procedures give children plenty of practice at social thinking, or
are they simply told boundaries?
▪ Do you ask what they may find hard, so they have a chance to plan ways to
manage better?
