                      34. LPJS made it clear to her former solicitors that if the £500,000 is judged to be the
                         proceeds of crime she will unhesitatingly assist in its return to the insurers concerned;
                         otherwise she urges the Court to confirm that it remains a gift. AIG has indicated to MJC
                         that the £525,397,60 was a genuine claim and the  Family Court (see paragraph 138)
                         concluded that the £500,000 derived from it was a gift and her asset.

                      35. To understand the case and  LPJS's counterclaim, it is necessary to note the convergence of

                         the Claimant's funding, the £500,000 and the Final  Hearing of her divorce.  LPJS contends ff�   1¥'
                         that the Claimant's fixation on concealing his dishonesty and refusal to give evidence on  ,r-
                         her behalf caused her to lose approximately £765,000 in lifetime maintenance from her
                         former husband.
