APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE OF A M KENZIE FRIEND
PART 4:SOURCE OF FUNDS
34. LPJS made it clear to her former solicitors that if the £500,000 is judged to be the
proceeds of crime she will unhesitatingly assist in its return to the insurers concerned;
otherwise she urges the Court to confirm that it remains a gift. AIG has indicated to MJC
that the £525,397,60 was a genuine claim and the Family Court (see paragraph 138)
concluded that the £500,000 derived from it was a gift and her asset.
35. To understand the case and LPJS's counterclaim, it is necessary to note the convergence of
\
the Claimant's funding, the £500,000 and the Final Hearing of her divorce. LPJS contends ff 1¥'
that the Claimant's fixation on concealing his dishonesty and refusal to give evidence on ,r-
her behalf caused her to lose approximately £765,000 in lifetime maintenance from her
former husband.
Paragraphs relating to the divorce hearings are distinguished in this submission by use
of the Book Antigua font.
