• They live in colonies of thousands of members.
• Ants are divided into three groups; each has a different role.

- Nurse ants send smelly messages to scout ants when the food is low.
- Scout ants are responsible for locating food by sending a smelly
message to alert the ants where to find food.
- Soldier ants send smelly message if there is a danger.
