P. 17
Fishing Cat
It is a wild cat and nocturnal animal
The fishing cat’s eyes seem to glow in the dark:
- It has a mirror-like membrane at the back of its eyes
- When the light enters its eyes, it bounces (reflects) off this membrane,
allowing its eyes to collect more light.
(Structural adaptation for excellent night vision)
• Some nocturnal animals can see in the weakest light levels but
they can’t see in complete darkness as they depend on other
senses as hearing or smelling.
