Nocturnal animals

Nocturnal animals: They are animals become active at night to look
for food. Ex: Owls and bats.

Why are these animals active at night?

      1. To avoid very hot weather.
      2. To surprise their preys.
      3. Some animals hunt food that is only available at night.

                                       Owls

                          Super senses: Sight and hearing

Owl’s face has a bowl-shaped face with special type of feathers in its head
to direct the distant sound into the owl’s ears.

Owl’s eyes are large and allow the owl to see tiny and far-away movements
                                      of their preys.

Owl’s head has the ability to turn in all directions
                          to search for preys everywhere.

                                      Bats

Bats depend on echolocation to find it’s preys at night

Bats and dolphins use echolocation, but only the bat is nocturnal
