                               Variables

How can you evaluate an algebraic

To evaluate an algebraic equation, substitute a number for the
independent variable and simplify.
Substitution is the same as replacing the variables with numbers.
In the equation ?? = ???? + ?? , ?? is the independent variable and y is the
dependent variable, and the values of the independent and
dependent variables are expressed by the ordered pair (x , y).
For Example: By substituting ?? = ?? , then ?? = ?? × (??) + ?? = ??
