                                             Unit1: Periodic Motion

                                           Lesson1: Oscillatory Motion

                   The oscillatory motion:
It is a motion produced by the oscillating body at the two sides of its original

position (point of rest) where the motion is repeated through equal intervals of
                   time.

                                                EXAMPLES OF PERIODIC MOTION:

                        Oscillatory motion Wave motion

IN WALL CLOCK PENDULUM, THE PENDULUM MOVES TO
THE RIGHT AND TO THE LEFT SIDE AROUND ITS ORIGINAL

POSITION AND IT REPEATS ITS MOVEMENT IN EQUAL TIME

            PERIODS.

SO THIS MOVEMENT IS CALLED OSCILLATORY MOTION A B C

The relation between the velocity of an oscillating body and it’s Kinetic energy:

                         →The kinetic energy = ሺ × ሻ =

The kinetic of an oscillating body is directly proportional to:
1- The mass of the oscillating body.

2- The squared velocity of the oscillating body

So, when the velocity increases the kinetic energy increases and

                   vice versa.

-The velocity (Speed) of the oscillating body decrease when it is far

from its original position and reaches to maximum when it passes

                   through its original position.
