Concepts related to the spherical mirror:

1.Center of mirror It’s the center of the sphere (C) that
curvature(C): the mirror is a part of it.

2.Pole of the mirror(P): It’s the point that lies in the middle of
the reflecting surface.

3.Radius of the mirror It’s the radius of the sphere that

curvature: the mirror is a part of it.

Or the distance between the center of the

mirror curvature(C)and any point on the

reflecting surface.

4.Principal axis of a mirror: It’s a straight line that passes by the pole
of the mirror (P)and the center
of curvature(C).

5. Secondary axis of a It’s any straight line that passes by the

mirror: center of curvature(C) and any point on
the reflecting surface except the pole
of the mirror.

6.Focus of the mirror(F): It’s the point of collection of parallel
rays (which are parallel to the

principal axis) when reflected from

the mirror.

7.Focal length of the It’s the distance between the Focus
mirror(f): point of the mirror (F) and its center(c)
