They are living organisms that get their food by
decomposition / breaking the organic wastes as dead bodies
or decayed food.
They recycle the nutrients back into the ecosystem through
the decomposition of dead organisms.
They can’t make their own food.

Worms and millipedes produce wastes rich in nutrients increase
the soil fertility for plant growth.
