Second: Proportional division
Proportional division is a division of (money, land, weight, or ….). To two
or more parts in a known way. The proportional division is used in many
life applications, including Profits division, inheritance division, and
other applications.
Example (1)
Suppose three people, Ali, Basem, and Mona, are dividing a sum of
money, say L.E 1,000, in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5
The total proportion is 2 + 3 + 5 = 10
To calculate each person's share: Sum

2: 3 : 5
?? ? 1000
1- Ali’s share = 2??1000 = 200 Pound

2- Basem’s share = 3??1000 x 1000 = 300 Pound
10
3- Mona’s share = 5??1000 x 1000 = 500 Pound
10
In this case, the total sum of L.E 1,000 is divided proportionally
based on the predefined ratio.
