The arrest was made by officers William Mincher and Thomas Martino of the 84th Police Precinct%u2019s Anti-Crime unit, based on the description of the suspects.BURNED THE RUG: 24 year-old John Vouriotis of 396 Dean Street was arrested by Officer Gegan of the 78th Precinct and charged with second degree arson on July 31 at 10 p.m. He had allegedly set fire to a rug on the second floor of his building. (Vouriotis lives on the third floor.) In addition to the rug being destroyed, the wall was slightly charred.DIDN%u2019T GET THE FRIDGE:Officer Jacoby of the 78th Precinct arrested two men for burglary on July 30 at 3:35 p.m., after they allegedly broke into an apartment at 424 Bergen Street and tried to take a refrigerator. The two arrested were Richard Castillo, 24, of 676 Warren Street, and Joaquin Rivera, 21,193 Flatbush Avenue.CLAIMED TO BE COPS: John Medina, 19, of 683 Union Street, and Anglie Fuentes, 24, of 338 Prospect Place, were arrested and charged with robbery, burglary, menacing, possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana on July 30 at 1:10 a.m. Police say that the two kicked in the door at 630 Union Street, claiming to be police officers. They then proceeded to knock down, tie up, and steal valuables from a resident of the house. They were thwarted by officers from the 78th Precinct.ASSAULTED A KID: A 55 year-old man was arrested and charged with felonious assault and possession of a dangerous instrument on July 29 at 1 a.m. after he allegedly attacked a 14 year-old. According to Officer Moran of the 78th Precinct, who made the arrest, the accused, Maximo Velazquez, of 15 Berkeley Place, claimed that the youth was %u201c annoying%u201d him.DELAYED REACTION: 17 yearold Anatacio' Pratts of 241 Van Brunt Street was arrested on July 27 at 7:30 p.m. for a, burglary he allegedly committed 10 days earlier. Thirty-one cartons of cigarettes were recovered.TOOK A STICK: A 53-year-old man was arrested on August 2 at 2:55 p.m. and charged with assault and possession of a dangerous instrument after he allegedly attacked a 52-year-old woman with a stick and a bottle, causing her hospitalization. Officer Termini of the 88th Precinct arrested Angel' Valentin, 305 Franklin Avenue, at the intersection of Franklin and Lafayette Avenues, the scene of the alleged assault.PREGNANT WOMAN ASSAULTED: A woman who was eight months pregnant was allegedly thrown down a flight of stairs at 579 Myrtle Ave. by Jose Rodriguez, 24, of 120 Skillman Avenue August 2 at 5:30 p.m. Rodriguez was subsequently arrested by Officer Roche of the 88th Precinct. The victim was 17 years old.THROUGH THE ROOF: James Maddox of 641 Carlton Avenue was arrested on August 4 at 12:05 a.m. and charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of burglar%u2019s tools.
