We can%u2019t do this,%u201d the Association%u2019s president said, %u201cWe don%u2019t consider this a minor squabble. We need increased police coordination to deal with the crime problem in our neighborhood. The same pattern of burglaries that we experienced last year has started again, and something must be done.%u201dBHA members were also dissatisfied with the department%u2019s answer to their request for a precinct %u201cmini-station,%u201d like the one on Montague Street in the 84th precinct. The inspector told the Association that there isn%u2019t a good site for one, nor are there sufficient funds. Butcher lated added that he saw mini-stations %u201cas a communications device, not really a crime deferent.%u201d But he told The Phoenix that he would apply to the city for one if the community insists.Butcher responded to complaints over the service at the 76th Precinct with a request and a promise. He asked that the 76th be given a chance to do a better job in Boerum Hill, and pledged that things would get better. He asked the community to hold himresponsible for his pledge. %u201cIf I can%u2019t deliver, I know' I%u2019ll be out of here,%u201d Butcher told the Phoenix. %u201cWe%u2019ll give them a try,%u201d Hold responded, %u201cOf course we will cooperate with the new administration.%u201dHolt also promised that the Boerum Hill community will not abandon their fight for precinct redistricting. Councilman Fred Richmond promised the group that the next time there is rezoning, all Boerum Hill will be included in the same precinct.Co-ed Hoopsters Set GameThe varsity basketball team of Packer Collegiate Institute will hold a Benefit-Double Header in their gymnasium, at 160 Joralemon St. on April 19 at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to aid the elderly shut-ins in Brooklyn Heights hotels through the Heights & Hill Community Council.The evening will consist of two %u201c Boy%u2019s vs Girls%u201d basketball games, both Academic and Middle Schools will compete. During the break Packer%u2019s Gymnastic team will demonstrate floor exercises.
