Almost as if she was practicing for this long-awaited audience, one girl ran around the room pointing out which works were hers, even going so far as to hug the pillow she made. A cute eight year-old, Sarah Tesser, sighed and said, %u201cSee my underwater scene? It took me all five weeks to make!%u201dAmy Clark and Stephanie Hill explained one of their favorite parts of the arts program. %u201cShowtunes for Shut-ins%u201d brought musical talent and happy young faces to residents of several local nursing homes. One particular skill she%u2019s been working on all summer is learning to age Aunt Em for the big production.Proud looks were to be seen everywhere that day, from the students to their parents, to the teachers. Many were looking forward to going away on vacation, but all seemed glad they had braved the Brooklyn heat to participate in this unique experience. And, as Molly Small, explained, %u201cGetting it over with is, in a way, the best part, but you still get nervous.%u201d Despite nerves and pouring rains, the young performers and artists didn%u2019t seem too preoccupied to enjoy this special day that their parents had set aside to pay tribute to them.It%u2019s ourannualAugustIn oak or teak, our tall units with accessories are great for storage.
